i cant do it because it says:

The disc can not be divided into partitions, because some files can not be moved.

Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format the disk as a volume structure Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Put the data back to the drive and run Boot Camp Assistant again.

could it be otherwise without the hard disk format?

@talkaboutownage No, you need a seperate disc for windows 7/xp/vista or any other version. You need a disc, you can’t get it from apple…… yup.. yeah.

  8. talkaboutownage says:

to do this you need discs am i correct?

if so, does apple give you windows discs when you buy your mac?

or to run any kind of bootcamp, even xp do you need to shell out $100+ for the discs?

or can you put on windows 7 or xp totally free?

It looks like he’s using a Windows XP Dell Reinstallation disk. Would this work for vista? I’ve heard a lot of speculation on whether or not using those types of disks actually work, and wanted to check in before I accidentally destroy my mac.

  23. melvindrbk says:

What’s up guys. I just switched from pc to a mac. I got a MacBook pro And I installed windows 7 using bootcamp. How can I switch OS withouth having to shut down the laptop and hold the ” option” key to see the 2 OS at start. Up.? Is there any program or software to be able to do this.? Thanks in advance.

  24. TheAxelX3 says:

you should only use windows through bootcamp for gaming purposes only and use the mac side for internet watching movies and stuff because if you download something through xp that has a virus your whole pc is infected.

  25. PWangsterTV says:

@GIocks the only reason anyone with snow leopard would get microsoft 7 is to play games on their favorite computers.
